Finally a little more information!

I have wanted to post for so long, but I honestly don't even know where to begin. We have had SO many changes since we 'announced' our big life change. But life has also been CRAZY getting everything settled. In the last 2 months; I celebrated my 26th birthday and my baby boy turned ONE! Boston also got his FIRST tooth and his FIRST REAL haircut--no more trimming, he's a big boy now, the weather got warm ;), we got asked to take our first foster care placement, we have learned so much from our classes and....DRUMROLL everyone............We got a van! HA! After months of researching between vans, acadias, traverses, and outlooks. A van is really the only thing that made since. Trust me I REALLY wanted an Acadia, but God brought out my rational side and showed me the cargo space blows, AND the most important thing, a vans safety far surpasses any SUV. I am not going to lie, this was a HUGE PILL TO SWALLOW. But I absolutely love it! We test drove 3 and decided on a Dodge Caravan. At first my wants were much bigger than our needs AND our budget and that's probably why it took until Saturday to find one. (did I mention we needed it by Thursday because we have 2 foster girls coming to stay with us for the weekend?!) The truth is, we didn't need anything fancy, we just needed space! God used my months of research to bring me back to the basics and the reason we even needed this vehicle. It's not about me, only HIM!

So Bos Man turned ONE! I can't believe how much he has changed in the last 2 months. He started walking in early March, which probably wasn't included in my last post considering everything else that was going on. He was really sick the week before his birthday. He wouldn't eat anything. We struggled getting him to take a bottle, and he had insane diarrhea; like 10-15 times a day for 9 days! It was awful, but felt amazing to get my baby back after a long 2 weeks! He was still puny the week of his birthday and the pictures show it! On April 21, at ONE YEAR AND 10 DAYS, I finally found his first tooth!

Boston actually got his first big boy haircut on May 8th! And the main push for it was the warmer weather! We are outside EVERYDAY and he just got SO sweaty and he just looked miserable. So one evening Mom and Dad came down and we talked a little about me cutting his hair but when we went inside, I was going to give him a bath and with friendly guidance of my loving husband, just said all right let's do it! I was almost in tears while I was cutting it BUT I love it now! It was so hard to look at him and not see my shaggy baby! But he is still as cute as ever! He looks even more like Andrew!

The first week of April I got a FB message asking us to pray about 2 girls that are currently in foster care, living with a great aunt and uncle, but after 18months of being in their care, and an ill mother that also moved in with them, they had decided that it was not in the best interest of the girls to stay with them and they were looking for another home. After a couple days deep in prayer, and many messages back and forth from our "source" for lack of a better word ;) I got the great aunt's phone number and called her. We went to meet the girls the next morning. It was something special to say the least. They were both amazing! Both have birthdays in June, one will be 10 and the other 2. After a couple of hours with them and lots of questions we went on our way. When we got in the car Andrew asked me what I thought. I didn't want to answer just in case he felt differently. I didn't want him to feel heartless if he disagreed with me. BUT he said, "I want them forever." It wasn't just a ya i say lets do it, he truly felt the same way that I did. I fell in love with those girls that day and although even more has changed since then and for the time being they will stay where they are, they will be spending time with us this weekend and hopefully a lot more throughout summer. I think about them constantly, when our kids are playing, when we're eating dinner, when I see the kids walking home from school....they are on my mind ALL.THE.TIME. And Brynlee doesn't stop talking about them. Andrew's parents gave us the bunk beds that Andrew grew up using and Grandpa Alan made them! So they are very special and Brynlee thinks it's the coolest thing ever! I just told her yesterday that the girls are spending the night this weekend and she is beyond excited. She has prayed for them since the day we met them. There are really no words because at no point have we mentioned them being with us, but somehow she has a special bond with them. I have no idea what role these 2 amazing girls will play in our lives, but I know they will always have a piece of my heart.

As far as licensing actually goes, we have all of our paperwork completed. I will send everything to our agency today and then we will have to wait on our fingerprinting to go through before we have 2 more home visits. We only have one class left! We have met great people there and we are so excited to share this experience with Katie and Mikey Meints. When we were walking into our first class they pulled up and I saw this girl waving, I had no idea who it was until she got out. So we have had a lot of fun bouncing ideas and being stressed thinking about the future together! ;)Thank you so much for all of your support. We feel so blessed to be going down this road. Please continue to pray for God's Will to be done and for us to have complete understanding whatever the case may be!
