Pregnancy scares and new additions
For those of you who don't know, I work nights so I sleep all day. Tuesday while I was sleeping I kept waking up with terrible, sharp cramps. I pushed it off, just thinking it was my body telling me I had overdone it and needed to back off a little. That night at work, I passed out! I felt it coming on so I sat on the floor so I wouldn't fall! Luckily April was there and she knew I had done that before! The nurses on NICU kept telling me they don't do adults..haha! (That made me feel safe!) I used to pass out often and no Doctor ever got to the bottom of it. I wasn't sure if it had to do with that or something related to the pregnancy so Wednesday when I got off, I called our Dr. She told me to go ahead and come in on Thursday for some reassurance. By that time, I was really freaking out and was an emotional basketcase. Mom thought I should go to the ED just to be on the safe side instead of waiting another 24 hours, but I had to work again that night and I know that if something happens, there is nothing I can do about it at this point. Plus Mom was leaving for a few days and we were both scared that if something happened she wouldn't be here! If it was bad news, I don't know what I would have done without her! I called Andrew at work to talk to him about it and he was the sweetest thing in the world. He told me that if there was any possible harm to me that he wanted me to go to the ED. (He is such a keeper!) I decided I would go to work and if I started cramping anymore I would go down there. I felt fine all night (Mom and Andrew texted me constantly...I guess they know how stubborn I am!) and went to the Dr. Thursday morning. Everything looked great, thank goodness! When I heard the heartbeat again, I was SO relieved, and by the look on Andrew's face, so was he! Dr. Hendrichs said it sounded like the cramps were round ligament pain from by belly stretching, and we just need to watch the passing out. I am sure blood was just pooling in my feet, but you never know with pregnancy! So anyways, after all of that, things are looking great!
Chandra had her baby girl, Payson, on Wednesday so I went to see them after my appointment...she is gorgeous! Mommy, Daddy, and Baby are all doing great!
Then I hung out with Rochelle and Timothy for the afternoon! I had a hunch that Rochelle was going to have quite the night and I was definitely right... a couple hours later she called to let me know she's ENGAGED!! I couldn't be more excited! She has waited a long time and Ryan has waited patiently with the ring and all for the perfect time! Gives Ro something to look forward to after she takes the dreaded NCLEX! So many exciting things happening, the Gerber family is expanding like crazy!

Honeymoon to Gerber Baby
Notice our Gerber baby is flipped over in this picture compared to the next!
Our Little Peanut waving at Mommy and Daddy
Yesterday was Andrew's 26th birthday. A year ago we came home from our honeymoon and this year, we spent it at Doctors appointments for our little peanut! We heard the heartbeat for the first time which at our first appointment was between 160-170 bpm. Dr. Hendrichs warned us that it would take a while to find the heartbeat and not to worry (not worry?! are you kidding me!) but as soon as she put the doppler down we heard it! I guess Gerber Baby didn't want to put Mommy under that much stress yet! It was the most amazing moment of my life! The constant vomiting and nausea all seemed worth it in that moment! During the ultrasound the heartbeat was 154 bpm and is measuring a little over 2 inches. Little Gerbs was flipping around like a little monkey. He/she would pull his/her legs up and shoot them down like a frog, and was throwing his/her arms all around! It looked like Baby Gerbs was waving numerous times! The Sono Tech made continuous comments about how active he/she is! I guess it's a good clue as to what we are getting ourselves into! We were definitely excited about a baby before, but the appointments finally made the pregnancy real, and now, words can't even describe our excitement!
Rochelle and Ryan came over later to spend the evening with us for Andrew's birthday! Although the majority of the day was for the baby, Andrew wouldn't have traded it for the world! After all, it isn't about us anymore! :)
